Us Weekly reports that William Balfour was found guilty in the trial involving singer Jennifer Hudson’s family murder which lasted for almost a month. The sentence was pronounced on Friday despite his lawyer’s attempts to prove there is no actual evidence indicating Balfour’s guilt.

Jennifer Hudson was finally able to revenge her family’s death by winning the case against her brother-in-law, William Balfour. The man was found guilty on all seven counts, including three accounts of first-degree murder. The press was not able to find out the jury’s condemnation, but it seems that Balfour will most likely have to do a mandatory life sentence without parole.

The accusations that were charged against Balfour were related to a series of crimes he committed in 2008. Back then, the 31-year-old convict killed Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson and her nephew, Julian King who was only 7 years old.

According to prosecutors, Balfour went into a jealous rage when he saw balloons at the house of his wife, Julia Hudson. He wrongfully assumed that the balloons were from her new boyfriend, so he went inside the house to shoot Darnell and Jason. Furthermore, he took Julia’s son, Julian, in the SUV and shot him on the road. The boy was found three days later in the abandoned car.

A day before, William Balfour wrote a message to his wife threatening her that if he ever leaves him, he will kill her. He then, added he will make sure all her family is dead first. Despite this, Balfour’s lawyer tried to defend the convict by telling the jury that prosecutors didn’t have enough evidence to support their claims.

Sources claim that singer and Oscar-winning actress, Jennifer Hudson was in court when the sentence was pronounced. As soon as she heard the jury’s decision, the 30-year-old star burst into tears. Her reps did not release any statement in relation to her future plans.
