Whitney Houston’s Mom Talks about Lifetime Biopic

Whitney Houston’s mom, Cissy Houston, is not a fan of the new project, Lifetime Biopic. So, Cissy publicly expressed her non-support for Lifetime’s biopic project for her late daughter.

Cissy revealed this in a new statement she gave Entertainment Tonight. “Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family’s objections. No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with ex husband Bobby Brown,” the statement said.

“In the two years since Whitney’s death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship to her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn’t know her,” it added.

Moreover, Cissy asked for people to leave the late singer and her family alone. “We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please please let her rest,” her statement concluded. So, it seems that Whitney’s mom is not happy at all with this new project and she wanted to let everyone know that this is what she feels.

The biopic is set to star Yaya DeCosta in the main role, naturally the one of the famous singer. Angela Bassett is the one who will direct this movie. She is well known as the former co-star of the singer in Waiting to Exhale. Arlen Escarpeta and Yolanda Ross are also said to star in the new movie. The new movie is set to be released next year, so it is yet to see what will happen until then.

I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story will mostly focus on the troubled and tumultuous relationship between the famous star and her former husband Bobby Brown. Despite the statement released by Cissy Houston, Lifetime claimed that they will go on with this project. Angela Bassett also claimed that before starting to work at this project, she reached out to the family of the late singer.

Earlier this month, Bobby Kristina Brown, the daughter of Withney Houstona and Bobby Brown blasted the director of the biopic for not casting her in the role of her mother.
