Even if at a first glance putting Rick Santorum and Lindsay Lohan together under the same roof might not seem too uncommon, the truth is that it is one of the least likely event. Call it odd, unlikely or awkward, Rick Santorum and Lindsay Lohan met at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Obviously having Lindsay Lohan under the same roof as Rick Santorum is a piece of information that would go viral. The headlines published so far are not exactly that beneficial for Rick Santorum. The short interaction with the famous and troubled Lindsay Lohan got Rick Santorum quite nervous. At least that’s how he appeared.
The Hill writes that Santorum stayed “mum” during the meeting, while Politico rules that Rick Santorum and Lindsay Lohan’s brief mingling was “among the oddest interactions at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner”.
TMZ wrote that Rick Santorum, the former U.S. senator, spent quite some time looking for Lindsay Lohan. Apparently he was quite determined to get a picture with her. TMZ’s photographer caught a short dialogue between Rick Santorum and his daughters. “Did I take one of Lindsay Lohan?” asked Santorum and his girls replied “Yeah, no. You took one of us”.
Later on, Santorum was asked by the same photographer why was so serious about taking a picture with Lindsay. The senator replied he should ask his daughter. Santorum also added that he “took a picture with a lot of people” at the event. Eventually, Santorum found Lindsay Lohan talking with Greta Van Susteren, from Fox News.
Among other odd interactions, photographers caught actress Reese Witherspoon talking to Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of Chicago. Sofia Vergara was a hit and even Jay Carney, the White House press secretary, asked her to take a photo together. Reality show star Kim Kardashian, director Steven Spielberg and actor George Clooney also took part at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Jimmy Kimmel ravaged his audience and even made jokes over the Secret Service Columbian prostitution scandal. Too early, you think? Kimmel said: “If this had happened on President Clinton’s watch, you can damn well bet those Secret Service agents would have been disciplined with a very serious high five”.
