Just two days before the world turned upside down and Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp called it quits, Harper’s Bazaar was interviewing the 39-year-old actress and singer. The interview is part of the Harper’s Bazaar September issue which will hit the newsstands next week. It is the first time that Vanessa Paradis talked about her and Johnny Depp calling it quits.
Harper’s Bazaar grilled the 39-year-old actress and singer about your common topics: love, relationships and what ranks as attractive from her point of view. The answers hold hints that explain one of the biggest celebrity break-ups of recent years.
“Love is the strongest and most fragile thing we have in life” said Vanessa Paradis. “Nothing is ever for sure, but when something in love doesn’t work from the beginning, it’s never going to work. Don’t push it” advised Johnny Depp’s once soul mate.
Johnny Depp’s ex also told Harper’s Bazaar that meeting the love of your life is at the same time obvious, natural and easier. However “sometimes you could be in an unhappy relationship; you are very much in love with someone, but it’s making you unhappy and you think things can change and you can work it out” confessed Vanessa Paradis.
In another interview, this time for the summer edition of Elle France, Vanessa Paradis was obviously asked about her and Johnny Depp. “I don’t want to talk about him” said Vanessa Paradis bluntly. “Who said that artists should sell their soul, expose everything about themselves” argued the actress reminding Elle’s reporters she’s there to talk about her latest film, “Cornouaille”.
“It’s my duty to promote this movie, and my albums, but can you imagine what it feels like to see people making a business out of your pain” she told Elle France. “What’s happened to us is our concern” said Vanessa Paradis of her break-up from Johnny depp.
“I hate for example whenever you hear someone say: ‘You have work at being a couple.’ No, you have to want to be there” Vanessa Paradis added.
