Usher’s Stepson Declared Brain Dead After Jet-Ski Accident

Usher’s stepson, Kyle Glover, was declared brain dead after being seriously injured in a jet-ski accident at Atlanta’s Lake Lanier, on Friday. According to Hollywood Life, the boy’s brain did not register any activity since he was knocked unconscious and he continues to be on life support.

In the past few years, Usher’s personal problems have captured the media’s attention more than his career achievements managed to do it. After an ugly divorce from ex-wife Tameka Foster, the singer is in the headlines again, after his stepson was severely injured in a jet-ski accident on Friday. The 11-year-old son and a 15-year-old girl were being pulled in an inner tube by a boat when an unidentified man lost controlled over his jet-ski and crashed into them.

The two children were removed out of the water and transported to the nearest hospital with the help of a helicopter. Doctors told Tameka that Kyle’s brain stopped working when he was hit in the head by the jet-ski. Despite their conflicts, Usher was at Tameka’s side throughout this whole time trying to make it easier for her to cope with her son’s health problems.

The boy’s condition hasn’t improved a bit, according to reps’ declarations. Since Kyle cannot breathe because he is in a coma, doctors were forced to put him on life support. The unidentified girl who was with Kyle at the time of the accident also has “serious” injuries.

Authorities are now working to recreate the accident in order to determine who is at fault. After the first analyses, police officers found out that the incident was not caused by alcohol. It remains to be seen whether the parents of the injured children will file lawsuit against the jet-ski driver.

Usher and Foster’s marriage lasted between 2007 and 2009. Tameka filed for divorce in 2009 because Usher was constantly cheating on her. Among the many accusations she had brought against the “OMG” interpreter, she stated that Usher slept with one of her bridesmaids. The divorce took an ugly turn when the former couple started arguing for the custody of their children, 4-year-old Usher Raymond V and 3-year-old Naviyd Raymond.
