Actor Tyrese Gibson was born ready for his role in the Transformers franchise. He says he had always exercised to get the body he shows in the “Dark of the Moon”, but he is not a fanatic of bodybuilding. As for the diet part, this is where he has to cut some unhealthy snacks. Find out what his favorite chocolate bars are.
At 32 years old, actor Tyrese Gibson has been playing the role of U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Robert Epps since the beginning of the Transformers franchise. Having the job of constantly saving the world is not as easy as it seems. Of course, we’re joking, but he is not. Gibson says that he stays in shape doing “what they call like a ‘vanity workout.’ It’s like you just want to look good, you want to feel like a star, but it’s not as technical as a full on bodybuilder.” He then gives some details on what the vanity workout is all about: “I like to run at least five miles a day. You know, abs, bench, chest, arms.”
The actor says that his routine was not meant for the role in the Transformers series. In fact, it is his way of staying fit since … forever. There’s a saying,” he tells, “that if you stay ready, you ain’t got to get ready.”
As for the diet, he admits he does not have a strict way of eating. “I love chocolate turtles. They’re my favorite. I also love Kit Kats, Snickers.”. He’s a man that loves his sweets, but he also makes some effort in sticking to more healthy foods, like baked chicken or fish, along with plenty of salads with vinaigrette dressing. “My biggest challenge is eating clean”, Gibson admits.
Don’t think that he could have ever got the role in Transformers if he hadn’t been a disciplined man overall. Remember that the executive producer of the franchise was Michael Bay, whom actress Megan Fox once called “Hitler”, because of his strict behavior. “It’s been a very long time since I’ve been around somebody that focused, and I think the fans are going to see that when they see the movie.” Gibson said.
