Toyota Recalls 1.67 Million Cars

Toyota has announced the recall of no less than 1.67 million cars. The recall includes Toyota Lexus cars, for three separate defects. The official announcement was made by the famous car maker on Wednesday.

So, Toyota revealed that the recall includes a total number of 1.67 million cars. The recall will address three separate defects, it has been claimed, including a faulty break master cylinder, which is believed to be able to hinder the brake’s performance. The popular company claimed that there were no accidents or crashes linked to the defect. Luckily, there are no injuries or deaths reported to have resulted due to this issue, either.

Over 1.05 million vehicles will be recalled in Japan. More than 615,000 overseas. Toyota claimed that its new recall includes car models such as Crown Majesta, Crown, Noah, Auris and Corolla Rumion. The recall also includes more than a dozen Lexus models. Toyota apparently reacted very fast on this recall, as the company wanted to make sure that its reputation will not be affected.

Car makers have to react as fast as possible when something is wrong with their vehicles. They need to share information with regulators on the prospect of a recall and identify the best way to address an issue. Toyota has actually been involved in a scandal back in 2009, when the car maker failed to react. Its image, reputation and sales were affected at that point.

Until now, Toyota has recalled a number of 6.30 million vehicles. This recall of the famous company dates back to April. However, this wasn’t the first recall for 2014 for the popular car maker. Toyota also issued a recall of more than 2.3 million vehicles for faulty airbag inflators. This latest recall features 802,000 Crown Majesta, Crown, Noah and Voxy models. These vehicles are called in by Toyota for a replacement of a rubber seal ring in the break master cylinder.

The second recall features 759,000 cars for faulty fuel delivery pipes. In the worst case scenario, they could cause a fire through fuel leak. The famous car maker will also recall 190,000 front-wheel drive Corolla Rumion and Auris models. Details on the recalls will be provided by Toyota to the car owners affected.
