The Untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 Arrives December 22

The wait was long and users anxious, but it looks like developers finally cracked iOS 6 for iPhone 5, 4S and iPad. The untethered iOS 6 jailbreak arrives December 22 announced a hacker who goes by Dream JB.

This was obvious the hardest iOS version to crack, but it looks like months of efforts have finally paid off. Well, at least that’s what an announcement by hacker Dream JB promises. The jailbreak for iOS 6 has been available for older versions of Apple’s devices, but the newest ones have been puzzling hackers. Although an untethered iOS 6 jailbreak for iPhone 5, 4S and iPad might seem like the perfect gift this Christmas, you’d better wait to see if it actually works.

December 22, 2012, be ready to shop for your untethered iOS 6 jailbreak, the first of its kind, reads an announcement by Dream JB. The much sought-after jailbreak will be available only on www.dreamjb.com. “Proof will be out this early this week folks. I’ll be posting on Twitter as well as the main site. Hope you all had a great weekend” the hacker tweeted after his first announcement was hit with criticism and scrutiny.

The untethered iOS 6 jailbreak announced by Dream Jailbreak isn’t an iPhone 5 bootrom exploit. “Hi folks, the jailbreak is userland, and not a bootrom level exploit. I don’t predict a bootrom exploit happening for a very long time” the hacker added on Twitter. The hacker also promised he will post a video tomorrow that “will be a single-take shot of the entire jailbreak process, including a restart and usage of the device to prove it is untethered”.

For Dream Jailbreak proving his jailbreak for iPhone 5, 4S and iPad is the real deal is going to be challenging, since previous bad experiences with outsiders’ solutions are still fresh in users’ minds. The skepticism of Joshua Hill and p0sizninja aren’t making things easier, since they already shot down past attempts of outsiders to release a jailbreak for iOS 6.

“No matter how many times we say ‘They’re all fake’ no one ever listens…*sigh*” tweeted Joshua Hill after Dream JB’s alleged untethered iOS 6 jailbreak made the news.
