First revealed in China, the new Samsung Galaxy A8 will start to be available in more countries. Probably, Singapore will be the first country that will have this new phone. Its official launch is in August, but the company’s home country, South Korea, had the opportunity to see the new A8 sooner.
This new phone will be available at the price of 698 dollars and it will be considered a mid-to-high end device. Until now, there are no other rumors on what other markets Samsung will want to release this interesting and nice metal device.
As for design, the new Samsung Galaxy A8 is similar with the Samsung Galaxy S6, known as being the flagship phone for the company. However, Samsung Galaxy S6 is not the first device with which Samsung tried out metal version phones. For example, the Galaxy A7 was another phone that was released with a metal frame. Probably, the new A8 has more in common with the A7 than with Samsung Galaxy S6.
Samsung Galaxy A8 comes with a beautiful and simple design, like many other Samsung phones. The sides are curved inwards at the bottom and probably this phone will be the feature of the A series. However, a significant change that pops up is how slim the phone is.
Samsung Galaxy A8 is 5.9mm thick, making it one of the thinnest phones on the market. This phone also weighs around 5.3 ounces, meaning that it will be barely felt in the pocket. Moreover, the A8 has a soft-touch feeling, making it very comfortable to hold in hand. This change is a big plus for the giant Korean company, because it shows that it tried to differentiate every phone they released.
Samsung Galaxy A8 has under the hood a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It also has an excellent 5.7-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display, 32GB of onboard storage and 2GB of RAM. Moreover, users will find a large embedded 3,050mAh battery and dual-SIM 4G capabilities that support Cat 6 LTE.
