Earlier this week, Taylor Swift announced the release date of her next album via a live YouTube chat with her fans. But there was also a first listen to Taylor Swift’s new single that talks about break up.
If only a few days ago, the internet went on frenzy over Taylor Swift’s new boyfriend rumors, on Monday the singer was back in top trends online. This time, there were no rumors to talk about. It was Taylor Swift having a chat with her biggest fans on YouTube and talking about her new album that’s coming out October 22. And fans also got to listen for the first time Taylor Swift’s new single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”.
Taylor Swift’s fourth album is called “Red” and will be released later this year. Wearing all red, the singer explained fans her album’s title is about intense feelings. “All the different emotions that are written about on this album are all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years”, the singer confessed on YouTube.
“All those emotions – spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that – in my mind, all those emotions are red” Taylor Swift said. “You know, there’s nothing in between. There’s nothing beige about any of these feelings” said the music star while explaining the origin of her fourth album’s title “Red”.
The new Taylor Swift single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” got a lot of people asking who she was referring to. In the end, it’s a break up song that Taylor Swift described it to be “really touching and sensitive”. In a nutshell, “a really romantic song that’s to my lovely ex-boyfriend” said Taylor Swift sarcastically.
But from the looks of it Taylor Swift is not going to reveal to whom her new single about break up is meant for. “It’s pretty difficult to come up with them” said Taylor Swift of her cryptic lines, “because I know that you guys are going to figure it out”. “I’m really excited about the fact that you guys care about lyrics. Hiding little codes in lyrics is kind of a way of encouraging that” she told fans on YouTube.
