Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj are no longer a couple. The two actually separated about six months ago, but it seems that only now Meek decided to open up about the split. He claimed that it has not been easy for him to talk about Nicki until now, and revealed that coping with the end of their relationship has been hard.
Meek opened up during an appearance on Philadelphia’s Power 99 radio station last week. His main reason to attend the show was to promote his latest album, Wins & Losses, but it seems that Meek also decided to talk about his former love interest. Nicki and Meek dated for two years before ending things earlier this year. Nicki was the one who officially announced the separation in January. “To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work and looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon,” the famous singer shared on Twitter.
So, Meek claimed that he always wanted to date Nicki and being with her was a “win” for him. “It was a win. I got Nicki when I was…like, I came up. I always wanted Nicki my whole life. I used to talk Nicki Minaj—remember I had the rap about it? I bagged that. So, that was a win of course,” he explained. And of course, separating from Nicki has been a loss for Meek.
“Of course, breaking up with anyone you love is a loss. Period. Game time. Ya heard? You want me to get up here and make up a lie or something, Kev? It’s so easy to tell the truth now,” he said. The star concluded that he now feels fine and is happy with his life. “I wake up feeling very comfortable with everything that took place in life because it made me who I am,” he said.
Following their split, a lot of rumors have been linked to the two. In fact, the attention on this breakup increased when Nicki released the single “Regret in your Tears,” believed to be about Meek.
