Congrats are in order for Ed Sheeran and his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn. The two stars are now engaged. Ed was the one who officially revealed the happy news in a social media post. The star shared a picture of himself in the company of his girlfriend on Instagram and revealed that they actually got engaged before the new year.

“Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx,” the message shared by Ed indicated. The fact that Ed and Cherry were very in love is not something new. Ed has previously revealed that his girlfriend was the one who inspired him to write the beautiful song Perfect, which became Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

For the moment, this is everything that has been revealed by Ed, so there is no additional information revealed on whether the two have talked about a wedding date and when the happy event might be taking place. The two have recently moved in together, after starting to date back in 2015.

Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn have known each other since childhood. They were friends when they attended together school in England. Although they were not in touch for some time, they reconnected at one point. In fact, Taylor Swift kind of helped the two reconnect, as they started dating after attending a party organized by the famous in her home, at which they were both invited.

Cherry was also by Ed’s side when he was dealing with drug addiction issues. He took a year off to focus on his health and well-being. Moving in with Cherry has also helped, according to Ed, who previously revealed that it made him feel more grounded.

Famous singer Ed Sheeran made an unexpected revelation. The star said that he had been dealing with substance abuse. Apparently, this is the reason why he decided to take a year off in 2016. The star talked about his struggle with drug abuse during an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show.

Luckily, Ed addressed the issue. “I think you need to, when you get into the industry, adjust to [fame], and I didn’t adjust because I was constantly working on tour. And all the pitfalls that people read about, I just found myself slipping into all of them. Mostly, like, substance abuse,” the famous singer said. “I never touched anything. I started slipping into it, and that’s why I took a year off and buggered off,” Ed went on to explain.

The star also confessed that he cannot work while being under the influence, and this is why working helped him a lot to overcome the struggle. “I focused on work, and I can’t work under the influence, I can’t write songs under the influence, I can’t perform under the influence – so the more I worked the less [that happened]. I’ve worked my whole life to get to where I am and you can’t lose that over something that you do in your spare time,” the star explained.

Ed also confessed that he did not realize what was happening and that he was starting to develop an issue. “I didn’t really notice it was happening. It just started gradually happening, and then some people took me to one side and were like, ‘Calm yourself down’… It’s all fun to begin with, it all starts off as a party and then you’re doing it on your own and it’s not, so that was a wake-up call and taking a year off,” he claimed.

Ed also made a sweet revelation. The star said that not only his work helped him, but his girlfriend Carrie Seaborn also offered him a lot of support and helped him stay sober. Ed also revealed during his interview that he and his girlfriend are currently living together.

Ed Sheeran Hospitalized after Car Accident

It has been revealed that Ed Sheeran had to be rushed to the hospital following an accident. The famous singer was actually hit by a car. It all happened in London, when Ed was riding his bicycle. Apparently, the famous singer broke his arm and this is why some of his upcoming concerts might be affected.

Ed revealed that he suffered this accident in an Instagram post. “I’ve had a bit of a bicycle accident and I’m currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows. Please stay tuned for further news,” the famous star said. He also shared a picture of his injured hand. However, Ed provided no other details at this point, so it remains unclear how severe his injuries were.

Furthermore, it is not very clear if the whole incident will have an impact on Ed’s tour. Currently, Ed is on break from his music tour, which started in March. He is set to resume his concerts on October 22, but it remains unclear if this will really happen at the scheduled time.

It seems that starring on Game of Thrones is not a good experience for everyone. At least it appears that it has not been one for Ed Sheeran. The famous singer decided to temporarily quit Twitter after receiving a lot of criticism for his appearance on the highly successful television series.

Initially, Ed Sheeran gave absolutely no explanation for his decision to quit the social media platform, but it definitely had something to do with his short appearance on Game of Thrones. His starring on the series actually created a mix of criticism and praise on social media. Of course, given these comments, it has been claimed that Ed decided to delete his Twitter to end the criticism.

Sheeran deleted his Twitter less than 24 hours after he appeared on the series. In the show, Ed played the role of a Lannister soldier who offered Arya Stark something to eat. When he was first introduced to the scene, Ed was actually playing a campfire song along with other soldiers.

Ed has not commented on his decision now, but this is not the first time when something like this happens. In fact, Ed had previously given up Twitter because of criticism. The star claimed last year that he closed down his Twitter account because of cyber-bullying. “I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things,” the famous singer said. “One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it,” he added.

It is yet to see what Ed has to say this time, but one thing is certain: the singer does not like the criticism on social media. He previously claimed that he tries to avoid reading bad things and Ed revealed that he just doesn’t want to read “something and be like, ‘Ugh, well that’s rude.’ I don’t want to choose to do that anymore.”

Ed Sheeran is definitely enjoying a lot of success with his latest album. In fact, this is the second time when the singer managed to get the number one on Billboard 200. Divide, the latest album of the star, is already a huge success among fans.

So, Divide is the third studio album for Ed Sheeran, but also an amazingly popular album. Actually, this third studio album of the famous singer has become the biggest selling album of the year. The album sold in 451,000 units, out of which 322,000 units were traditional album sales. These figures were registered in the week ending March 10 and were revealed for the first time by Nielsen Music.

An interesting thing to mention at this point is that Divide is the biggest selling album of the year so far and it actually stays close to J Cole’s album, 4 Your Eyez Only, which debuted at number 1 on December 31, selling 492,000 units. Divide is the biggest selling album since J Cole’s work was highly welcomed on the market at the end of 2016.

So, Divide sold no less than 322,000 units in traditional album sales, but also 90,000 streaming equivalent album units. Another important thing to mention is that this is also the third fastest-selling album according Official Charts Company. Divide is also the highest opening sale for a male artist according to the same source.

All the songs from his album are very successful, and in fact every song managed to stay within the top 10 of the UK’s Official Singles chart, an amazing achievement.
