Talk about power couples, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt don’t stand a chance next to two superheroes. In the upcoming issue of “Justice League”, Superman and Wonder Woman are in love and will kiss. But the consequences of their kiss are terrible!
Some comic book fans will be shocked, others will feel it’s a victory. To be fair, most thought Superman and Wonder Woman are meant to be together, even if Lois Lane was still in the picture. But others will argue that soap opera drama has nothing to do with comic books. One thing is for sure: Superman and Wonder Woman kiss in the new issue of “Justice League”.
Superman and Wonder Woman will kiss, but it’s not like Superman is cheating on Louis Lane. DC Comics wants to revamp the whole story and in this storyline, Clark Kent isn’t in a relationship with Louis Lane.
“It’s not a stunt” says artist Jim Lee. “It wasn’t just about changing things from the past, it was really about giving us great opportunities to do things we haven’t been able to do before” he added.
It goes without saying such a big twist in the story is by far the biggest thing that fans will be appalled by. “If you change anything from the length of a cape to the shape of a belt buckle, there’s always some fan that notices and is appalled” said Jim Lee, artist on the “Justice League #12”.
Mike Cotton, Champion!’s editor in chief, believes Superman and Wonder Woman in love could really work out. “It’s the most iconic male character and the most iconic female character in the universe” he said.
Power couples are a thing these days. Just take a look at Hollywood’s royal heads. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt or New York City’s Jay-Z and Beyonce, audiences simply love seeing them take on the world. So why wouldn’t that happen in comic books too? In the end, Superman and Wonder Woman are both superheroes that need a powerful and influential match.
Match.com believes it’s a great new story twist. Superman and Wonder Woman as a couple are quite compatible. The website said Superman and Wonder Woman are “a classic match of high-testosterone male and the high-estrogen female”.
