Steve Jobs Tribute Laptops Auctioned For Charity

The Inquisitr reports that the laptops that were created as a tribute to the late Apple CEO, Steve Jobs will be auctioned on eBid for charity this week. The three models are in keeping with Apple’s stylish designs and they contain several features that will remind everyone of the significant contribution that Steve Jobs has had on the modern era.

Apple commemorated on Friday one year since its most famous CEO, Steve Jobs, passed away. The IT giant wanted to do something special in loving memory of the man who took technology to the next level, so they designed three customized laptop models. The MacBook Pro laptops were produced in collaboration with Uncover, a Netherlands-based company specialized in laser-cutting designs and the Hong Kong artist Jonathan Mak.

Thanks to Uncover, the three devices have been customized with a special illuminated logo containing the silhouette of the late Apple co-founder. Moreover, the bottom of each MacBook was engraved with one of Steve Jobs’ famous motivational quotes. Those who will purchase the tribute laptops will, thus, be inspired every day by the following words: “When you grow up, you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again”.

The limited-edition laptops have already been auctioned on eBid, so customers can purchase them in exchange of $12,400 each. Part of the money will be donated to the charity Get It Done, whereas the rest of them will be added to a research fund for the creation of iOS apps that have a societal value.
