Stephen Collins is in the middle of a huge scandal, linked to child molestation allegations. Due to these allegations, the talent agency of the actor decided to drop the collaboration. E! News confirmed that his Beverly-Hills based talent agency dropped the star following the allegations.
“We have cut ties with Mr. Collins,” a rep for the agency claimed. They have represented the actor in the past five years. The decision comes about one week after it has been claimed that the actor molested young girls on various occasions.
Stephen Collins is best known for his role as Reverend Eric Camden, on 7th Heaven. It has been claimed that the star confessed to molesting young girls on an audiotape that TMZ obtained. On this tape the actor, who is now 67 years old, is heard recalling these incidents. The star is now going to a divorce from his wife, actress Faye Grant. Apparently, the revelations were made while Collins was talking to a therapist and his ex.
“Faye requested that Mr. Collins create a trust fund for their daughter, and further requested that he make a contribution to a charitable organization benefiting sexually abused children. To falsely characterize these requests as extortion threats is reckless and constitutes yet further abuse,” Grant’s lawyer claimed this week.
Previously, Faye Grant claimed that she is disgusted by her husband’s actions. “I’m sickened by Stephen’s actions,” she said. “I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek treatment for pedophilia, but he has refused to seek proper help or hospitalization for the predilection toward children.”
It has been revealed that the New York Police Department has already started to investigate this case. Apparently, a complaint has been filed against the actor. It surely seems that this scandal has managed to affect the star’s career. So, after the allegations, Collins will no longer appear in the sequel of Ted. E! News reported that he was set to have a small role in this movie, but it seems that his part has been cut.
Stephen Collins also decided to retire from his position on the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild. Well, the actor made no official statements linked to the allegations, at least for now, so it is yet to discover what he had to say about the case.
