The Summer Games came to an end and the famous British band, Spice Girls reunited after many years to rock the stage at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony. The show, which lasted for almost three hours, kept viewers breathless as famous bands and artists walked up the stage, the Associated Press reports.
Britons proved they are both good organizers and hospitable hosts during the 2012 London Olympics. The closing ceremony was just as impeccably planned as the rest of the sports event, whereas the artists made sure everyone in the room was entertained. Spice Girls were the most awaited band of the evening because the public didn’t have the chance to see them sing together since their 2008 concert in Toronto.
Dressed in sexy outfits that preserved their 90s look, the members of the Spice Girls made a glamorous entrance on top of light-encrusted London cabs. Posh Spice replaced her famous black mini with a Giles dress adorned with ruffles and high-low train. Geri Halliwell did not wear her famous Union Jack dress, but showed up in a similarly looking red dress having the British flag incorporated into the bustle. The years that have gone by have turned Emma Bunton into a sexy woman; yet, the babydoll pink dress that made her famous seems to be the right choice for her. Melanie C and Melanie B both wore casual and sexy costumes reminding everyone that their nicknames are “Sporty” and, respectively “Scary”.
There were many other international stars performing at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony. Jessie J, George Michael, One Direction and Fatboy Slim were some of the artists who kept the crowd entertained for more than three hours. Parades of Portugal dancers, models and fireworks brought color and warmth to the lively celebration.
Brazil will be the next country organizing the Olympic Games in 2016. The future organizers of the show described themselves as a dancing nation which will provide spirited contrasts to the perfectly organized British show.
