Michelle and Barack went out for a date for the first time back in 1989. This new movie will focus on this beautiful and crucial moment in their lives. It has been reported that Tika Sumpter will play the role of the first lady. Reports reveal that auditions for the part of Obama have not started yet, so it is yet to find out who will be cast in this role. The movie will be directed by Richard Tanne. Tanne revealed that he developed the idea of this movie with Sumpter, who will also serve as executive producer. 

The entire action of the movie takes place in the summer of 1989. At that time Obama was a law school student. It seems that it took some time for the current President of the United States to convince his wife to go out with him. Obama met his future wife at work, as he took a summer job as an associate at Chicago law firm Sidley Austin. This is where he fall for lawyer Michelle Robinson. 

Their first date has surely been very romantic. The couple visited the Art Institute, took a long walk and caught a showing of Do The Right Thing. Michele and Barack fell in love for each other and the couple went to wed about three years later, in 1992. The famous couple shared their love story and their romantic first date in an interview on the campaign for the president’s re-election in 2012.
