Sharon Osbourne Tweets About Quitting America’s Got Talent

With all that fuss about new judges for “X-Factor” and “American Idol”, “America’s Got Talent” was prone to be next in line. Sharon Osbourne’s tweet about quitting “America’s Got Talent” left everyone baffled.

Whether or not producers are well aware of it, all that fuss about old judges leaving and new judges coming can make their shows go viral. Well, at least for a while. So, it’s just a little bit weird Sharon Osbourne announced she was quitting “America’s Got Talent” via Twitter and only days after Mariah Carey was confirmed as judge for “American Idol”.

Everything began with a tweet this Monday from Howard Stern’s satellite radio show. The new appointed judge for “America’s Got Talent” Howard Stern seemed uncertain whether he’ll come back for another season or not. The tweet added Sharon Osbourne was also thinking about leaving “America’s Got Talent” because of the money.

Tuesday afternoon Sharon Osbourne snapped. She tweeted: “My darling @HowardStern, money is not the reason I’m not returning to @nbcagt, it’s because…”. Well, that doesn’t say much about Osbourne’s reasons to quit her judge gig with NBC’s show.

In a meeting with critics later this Tuesday, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt seemed a bit unprepared to talk about Sharon Osbourne’s departure. “I have nothing to say about Sharon Osbourne other than this is coming out of context and sort of spontaneously and we don’t really know what’s going on” said Bob Greenblatt.

It might well be Sharon Osbourne got angry with the show’s producers after they made a lot of concessions in favor of Howard Stern. “America’s Got Talent” moved to New York City at the request of Howard Stern, who was signed for one year with a paycheck that equals a Third World country’s GNP.

For Sharon Osbourne moving from Los Angeles meant spending less time with her family and her new granddaughter. To make things worse, her son, Jack was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, so going back and forth from Los Angeles to New York isn’t all that easy, even for a billion dollar star like Sharon Osbourne.

So these reasons could very well explain that “because” in sharon Osbourne’s tweet about leaving “America’s Got Talent”.
