review Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Review: Best Features

For the tech savvy buyer, Apple’s iPad isn’t the only high end tablet in the market. Samsung’s tablets, as disputed as they might be, are the best contenders to Apple’s leader position in today’s market. In fact, some of these Samsung tablets have pushed the limits further and are now offering features the iPads are basically missing.

Before Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, most tablet reviews praised the all-might iPad. But with these two contender tablets, things changed and for the first time it looked like there was life after the iPad. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the first tablet that makes users spend hours and hours simply using its features as opposed to downloading apps and playing  Angry Birds.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the first 10-inch tablet running Android that turned out to be the greatest toy one can have. It isn’t the speedy 1.4 GHz Samsung Tablet Processor or the 2 GB RAM and 16 GB on-board memory or the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS that caught our attention. It’s the drawing and note-taking features, and its great functionality as an IR remote, and the split-screen function.

For $499 on Amazon, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (16GB, Wi-Fi) is insanely versatile and useful, becoming the first tablet that puts Apple iPad in the shadow. The integrated S Pen and the 1280 x 800 pixels, 10.1 inches screen makes drawing, taking notes or editing photos absolutely easy and in amazing detail thanks to the 1,024 pressure sensitivity levels. It also features a simplified and customized version of Adobe Photoshop Touch to make photo editing on your tablet a lot easier.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was designed with the sole purpose of allowing efficient multitasking. Thanks to the quad core processor and Ice Cream Sandwich Android, you can watch a movie while reading your email, or take notes while recording a class and your tablet will not freeze. You can run six apps side-by-side thanks to the split-screen function.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is a great tablet for students, featuring access to over 150,000 e-textbooks.

The S Note app can solve mathematical equations for you and convert handwriting into typed words.

The Peel Smart Remote turns the tablet into a control panel for TVs, DVRs, home stereos, Dish Network Hopper etc.

The 10-inch tablet features a 5MP main camera and a 1.9MP front camera.

There are caveats however to Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. The tablet can’t recognize your handwriting unless you activate the feature and it also can’t sync audio notes with your handwritten notes.

Not many tablets today are really designed to make your life easier, but Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 lives to that promise.
