Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz’s “The Batman” to Hit Cinemas in 2022

Keep an eye on the Batman-Signal! The film of Robert Pattinson The Batman is finally hitting cinemas in 2022.

The first glance of the Twilight actor’s dark take on Comic book characters in the August 2020 teaser trailer for the film starring superheroes created and directed by Matt Reeves. In the clip of nearly three minutes the young Bruce Wayne is a total EMO kid, who wears dark eyeliner with a smudge and listens to the band Nirvana as he seeks revenge on the death of his parents.

“Who the hell are you supposed to be?” A man asks. After beating him Pattinson’s Batman replies, “I’m vengeance.”

Lighthouse star is the Lighthouse actor is 12th actor to portray the Caped Crusader role since Lewis Wilson first donned the costume for 1943’s Batman. The list of stars from the past Batmen includes Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Ben Affleck and The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale. But, Pattinson hoped to put the spotlight on Bruce Wayne’s alter-ego.

“Batman’s not a hero,” the actor said to The New York Times in October of 2019. “He’s an intricate character. I’m not sure I’d ever be a hero. There’s always something that’s a little off. It could be due to the fact that one eye are larger than my other.”

When Pattinson’s casting became official in May the public expressed concerns about whether the British actor was not the right person to play the role, but the criticism didn’t bother the actor in any way. “To be honest, it was less vitriolic than I was expecting,” the actor said to Variety in September 2019 with regard to the online hatred. “It’s far more enjoyable when you’re the underdog. There’s no expectation for you.”

Comic book lovers might not agree about his Good Time star, since there’s always some anticipation and anticipation for a new Batman film. As his counterpart, Reeves wanted to do something different with his own take on Batman: the Defender of Gotham City. He wanted his audience to go home with tears.

“I felt that we’ve seen lots of origin stories,” the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director said in a featurette he wrote for 2021’s The Batman, explaining why it was important to tell an adventure that focused on an early Bruce Wayne, before he truly became the superheroes that fans recognize.

Reeves said, “You can have it be extremely practical. However, I was also thinking that it could be the most emotionally charged Batman movie to ever be created.”

The Release Date

Batman Batman was originally planned to be released at the end of June, 2021 however because of the coronavirus pandemic that year, the release date was moved to October 1st 2021. After an actor contracted COVID-19 during September 2020, the movie was forced to put off production, and the release date was changed. The film is now scheduled to release on March 4, 2022.

The Cast

Pattinson is the character of the title as well as Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler and a hardly recognizably Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard and Barry Keoghan round out the actors.

The Director

Reeves is in charge of the camera of The Batman. He started his career as co-creator of WB Series Felicity before moving as the director of Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and its sequel, War for the Planet of the Apes.

The Inspiration

The most recent Caped Crusader film is an origin story that’s “very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale,” Reeves stated to The Hollywood Reporter in January 2019 and said he hopes that the tale “will be thrilling but also emotional.”

The storyline in the film has been kept secret, however director Let Me In director said his film has “more [about] Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films.” The director added that “[Batman issupposed to be the best detective in the world but that hasn’t always been the focus of the films have shown. I’d love to see one in which, when we embark to track the criminals down and attempting to solve a case and solve a crime, it will let his character have an arc that will undergo a change.”

“The Riddler’s True Criminal Connection

In the trailer that premieres for the film Batman is scared by the Riddler whom some believe is influenced to a certain extent by Zodiac Killer — and not just because they are obsessed with puzzles. The leaked photos of Dano in his character show the actor wearing a mask and clear glasses that appear like the clothes worn by the notorious serial killer who killed countless people in Northern California in the ’60s.

Two Thumbs Up for Batman

After seeing a sneak preview into the movie, Pattinson made it clear to fans that that they’re in for an exciting experience. “I’ve seen some of the movie now and it’s kind of really cool,” Pattinson said to Variety at the end of September in 2021. “It’s really cool.”

A Catwoman Who Don’t Pull Any Punches

When Kravitz was a candidate to play the Catwoman role She wanted to remain honest for her manager. “It was important to give him an idea of what it’s really like to work with me,” Kravitz said to Another Mag in September 2021. “To express what I truly think, and, if we’re in the same set to ask me the questions I’d like to ask. I tried to approach the situation from a position that I’m telling him what I think and feel about the character. I believe that’s how the situation happened and how I ended up getting the part.”

It is reported that the High Fidelity alum reportedly beat Joker’s Zazie Beetz and Baby Driver’s Eiza Gonzalez to be the one who played the role.
