Oprah Winfrey’s network is scoring big time audience rates with her celebrity interviews. Last week’s interview with the Kardashian family surely had most of you pinned to your TV screens. I’m betting this Sunday’s interview is going to entice you just as much. Rihanna is next to get interviewed on Oprah’s Next Chapter.
Rihanna was set to have a chat with Oprah for quite some time now. The last interview was back in January 2010, when the singer was invited on Oprah’s talk show dedicated to the victims of the Haiti earthquake. On Monday, Oprah confirmed Rihanna will be next on line to be interviewed on her show. The interview airs this weekend, June 18th.
The upcoming interview is set to hit some hot buttons, given Rihanna’s recent reconnection with ex boyfriend Chris Brown. Also, with Rihanna being the reason for Drake and Breezy’s fight last week, Oprah is going to have some pretty uncomfortable questions on her list.
But it’s likely Oprah is going to ask Rihanna about her decision to reconnect with Chris Brown. Back in 2009, Oprah had a show that debated domestic violence soon after news about Rihanna being physically abused by her boyfriend shocked everybody. Oprah advised young women in abusive relationships to protect themselves.
“If you go back with a man who hits you, it’s because you don’t think you’re worthy of being with a man who won’t” said Oprah. “I’ve said before, ‘Love doesn’t hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again” she concluded.
Earlier this week, tabloid media was raving about Rihanna’s new tattoo, a falcon on her ankle that was shaped like a handgun. The singer explained her choice on Twitter: “Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes during sleep”.
Last week, Rihanna told Us Weekly she went a bit too far with losing weight. “I’m a size zero – and not happy about it! I went way too far” she told the magazine. “I prefer myself a bit chunkier. I want my old butt back!” confessed Rihanna.
“It’s actually pretty annoying, because now I don’t have a butt, and I have no boobs. I already had no boobs to start with. So annoying! And I’m eating everything” the artist complained.
