Based on a recent report published by the Associated Press, many more online hackers tend to use Emma Watson’s image as bait for Internet scams. The actress was actually named the most “dangerous” cyber celebrity as her name is often used to trick online users into downloading malicious software.
“Harry Potter” star, Emma Watson, is one of the celebrities that online hackers use most often in order to trick people into offering their personal information. The majority of the websites that are usually displayed when searching Emma Watson’s name contain malicious software or viruses trying to steal online users’ personal information; therefore, the actress was named the most “dangerous” cyber celebrity by McAfee.
The company owned by Intel has performed many other researches, so far, in order to determine who the most used celebrity is. Last year, it was Heidi Klum’s image that was often adopted for Internet scams, but it seems that hackers have now turned their attention towards the 22-year-old actress. In fact, one-in-eight websites containing Emma Watson-related information could be infested with viruses, according to McAfee.
Judging by their reports, female celebrities are much more likely to be utilized by cyber criminals. They are usually loved by both male and female audiences and they draw larger numbers of visitors to these websites. There is, however, a male celebrity that was also included in top 20 most “dangerous” cyber celebrities, that is, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. McAfee has discovered that some of the sites discussing about him could damage the computers of Internet users.
Some of the sexiest women in Hollywood were at the top of the list communicated by McAfee. In addition to Emma Watson, fans could fall victim to online scams if they search for information related to Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes, Selena Gomez and Halle Berry. These stars have been described by the Intel-based company as the riskiest celebrities to search online.
