In the world of fashion and fashionistas, the ideal body weight is when all your bones clearly show. It’s a weight standard somewhere between anemia and famishment, just right for the mannequin clothes designers make. So, it’s really no wonder why controversial fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld called Adele fat.
Karl Lagerfeld, Channel’s famous head designer for dozens of years, is a cherry on top for the media. His rich mouth gave us something to write every time. Karl Lagerfeld even referred to himself as Karl Labelfeld and as guest editor of global free newspaper Metro the controversial remarks will continue to pour on.
UK’s Telegraph writes that Lagerfeld was asked to give his opinion regarding today’s female pop stars. That’s all he needed as comments started to poor without signs of them ever ending. The 78-year-old designers said:
“The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice”. Well at least he did complement something about her. Although everybody knows that such comments are Lagerfeld’s thing, throughout both the U.S. and U.K., the media ripped him in bits. A few years ago, Lagerfeld said “no one wants to see round women”.
So far, Adele hasn’t made any comment regarding Lagerfeld’s piece of mind, and it’s likely she’ll leave this pass. Anyway, she once said referring to her weight: “It’s never been an issue… At least, I’ve never hung out with the sort of horrible people who make it an issue”.
But Adele wasn’t the only one to get under the designer’s radar. Referring to Lana del Rey, the designer commented she “is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful. Is she a construct with all her implants?”
Then he talked about how ugly men in Russia are, figuring that women there must be lesbian. He also considered it’s a good idea to give his own insight regarding the Greek debt crisis. “You can’t be sure the money will go where it’s supposed to go. Nobody wants Greece to disappear, but they have really disgusting habits. Italy as well”.
