Based on a recent report published by E! Online, the New York Public Theater announced on Wednesday that they will be hosting Anne Hathaway’s cabaret performance on October 24. The actress is very excited to be able to expand her area of artistic skills due to her new projects.
Anne Hathaway received many challenging offers this year. Thus, the actress will enchant her fans with her singing skills in “Les Misérables”, a movie which is due to be released around Christmas. Moreover, Anne was co-opted to take part in the one-night-only concert that will be held on October 24th at the New York Public Theater.
Hathaway released a statement soon after the theater announced their future program. The actress told the press that she is very happy to reunite with the staff at the New York Public Theater as she felt very good during the previous times she has collaborated with them. In addition, the new project gives Anne the feeling that she is actively contributing to the rededication of the theater and that she is helping making theater more popular around the world. In the end, she invited all New Yorkers to join her at the concert on October 24 and reminded tourists that they are always welcome, too.
The “Dark Knight Rises” star was given specific assignments for the much-awaited concert. According to the website of the Public Theater, the actress will interpret several songs from the musical “Cabaret”, including “Perfectly Marvelous” and “Cabaret”.
The money that will be raised from the concert will be used to revitalize the Public Theater’s downtown home. The location has already been subject to various modifications whose price amounts to $40 million. The first time Anne Hathaway performed on the stage of the Public Theater was in 2009 when she starred in the “Shakespeare in the Park” production.
