New Book Unmasks Zodiac Killer

A former California Highway Patrol officer published a new book called “The Zodiac Killer Cover-up, AKA The Silenced Badge” to unmask the Zodiac Killer. The man claims he has spent the last 40 years gathering evidence which proves that the fearful murdered is a 91-year-old recovering alcoholic living in Fairfield, California, says ABC News.

The identity of the 1960s serial killer who used to mark the cryptic letters he would send to local newspapers with zodiac signs might have been revealed at last. Lyndon Lafferty, a 79-year-old retired police officer from California published the book “The Zodiac Killer Cover-Up” to present the hidden details of the unsolved case.

Lafferty writes in the book that he has reasons to believe the murders were performed by a California resident who is now 91 years old. This hypothesis is grounded on numerous proofs that the former police officer has gathered in 40 years of research. He, nevertheless, told reporters that the story he presented in the book was “inherited” and that he did not ask for it.

The writer is willing to testify under oath that the events he mentioned in the book are true. He started investigating the case with six law enforcement officers in 1970 and in 2002, he decided to make a compilation of the notes he has written within the past 30 years. Thus, he created his own version of the case.

Besides the detailed evidence that Lafferty describes in the book, the author also talks about his first encounter with the person he considers to be the Zodiac Killer. According to him, the episode took place in 1970 when the suspect was working on parole as a CHP officer. Lafferty was not able to talk about the case until now because the police department was working back then under the authority of the Solona County Sheriff who prohibited them to investigate the case without permission.

In the end of the book, the former police officer provides a possible explanation in relation to the Zodiac killings. In his opinion, the suspect killed 37 people because he was driven by jealousy after he found out that his wife was having an affair.
