MTV Announces 2014 Movie Award Nominees

MTV just announced the nominees for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. It seems that American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street are the movies which received most nominations.

According to MTV, both American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street have received 8 nominations each. The show is set to air live on April 12, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. So, we have a little more than one month to wait until we will find out who the winners are this year.

American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street were considered to be two of the best movies of the year, but unfortunately for them, none of the two managed to get an Oscar in 2014. Maybe they will get more than one award at the MTV Movie Awards.

American Hustle stars Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, who were nominated in top acting categories. Amy Adams and Christian Bale were nominated for best duo in a movie, naturally for their performance in American Hustle

Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto were nominated in best duo category for their performance in Dallas Buyers’ Club. Both these actors won an Oscar for their performance in the movie.

12 Years a Slave, the movie which won Best Picture at the Oscars, received four nominations. The biggest winner at the Oscars, Gravity only received one nomination for Sandra Bullock’s role as best actress. At the Oscars, Gravity won no less than 7 awards this year.

At the MTV Movie Awards best movie will be chosen between 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Robert DeNiro, Kanye West and Joan Rivers are nominated in the Best Cameo category. Jennifer Aniston, Zac Efron, Chris Hemsworth, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sam Claflin received a nomination, too, in the Best Shirtless Performance category.

At Best Female Performance the nominees are Amy Adams, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong’o. Best Male Performance nominees include Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Josh Hutcherson and Matthew McConaughey.

Other categories include Best Fight, Best Comedic Performance, Best Breakthrough Performance, Best Hero, as well as Best Musical Moment.
