Late last week, Ariel Winters, the “Modern Family” star made the headlines thanks to her mom being accused of child abuse. A source told TMZ that the “Modern Family” cast hated Ariel Winters’ mom.

Although she denied having abused her daughter in any way, Chrystal Workman might be lying. A new source brings new information, revealing actors wanted Ariel Winters’ mom to be banned from the show’s set. It seems that actors would sneak food for Ariel Winters since her mom had her on a strict diet of egg whites and raw vegetables.

“It’s all untrue, it’s all untrue” Chrystal Workman told People after a judge made her older daughter the temporary guardian of Ariel Winters aka Alex Dunphy. Court papers read that the teenager’s mom is charged with “ongoing physical abuse (slapping, hitting, pushing) and emotional abuse (vile name-calling, personal insults about minor and minor’s weight, attempts to ‘sexualize’ minor, deprivation of food etc. ) for an extended period of time”.

A source who used to work on the “Modern Family” set reveals that the cast knew Ariel Winters’ mom was making her “life a living Hell”. In fact, cast members would even try to give Ariel Winters food without her mom knowing.

“We’re told Chrystal would sit on set and watch Ariel like a hawk – and then berate her for her physical appearance, saying her ears were too big and she looked ugly in her clothes” writes TMZ. “She also blocked Ariel from eating anything but egg whites and raw veggies”.

The source told TMZ it’s a good thing Ariel Winters’s mom has been stripped of her power over the actress. Chrystal Workman is even said to have been pushing for her daughter to make more money to pay her staff and support the family’s financing.

“I’m so happy for Ariel that she went to the extreme and got out from under that miserable woman’s care” the source told TMZ.

Chrystal Workman denies ever abusing her daughter. “I have never slapped or hit Ariel. I love Ariel very much and will do whatever is in her best interest” she told the judge.
