Microsoft Lumia 535 has been released

We were all aware that this device was coming and today looks like Microsoft finally released its first smartphone without Nokia branding. Everyone expected to see how this phone will looks like, under the brand of Microsoft. So, the giant tech company has released its first Windows Phone. The first device that omits Nokia name and is called Microsoft Lumia 535. It is an entry-level device without any standout features. It comes with a 5-inch display and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

With this new release, Microsoft declared that the device was designed as an alternative to the smaller Lumia 530, and will be promoted on markets in India, China, Russia and in a few parts of Asia. In the near future, it will be also launched in Europe, including the UK, but for now the company doesn’t have plans to release the phone stateside.

“Lumia 535 comes with our ‘5x5x5’ proposition. Innovation should be available to everyone, and we are doing this through the very best integrated Microsoft services included and out of the box, a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera, and a spacious 5-inch qHD screen, all at an affordable price,” declared Joe Harlow, the corporate vice president for Phones at Microsoft.

Microsoft Lumia 535 will come in 6 happy colors, bright red, bright green, dark grey, orange, black and cyan. The features for this device are 1.2 GHZ quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, with 1 GB of RAM, 5-inch 960×530- pixel AMOLED display, 1,905mAh battery, 8GB of onboard storage, with the option to add up to 128GB more using the micro SD slot. This smartphone is a 3G-only device, targeting the users who are unlikely to have a 4G data plan. The 5-megapixel front-facing camera is good, but unfortunately it comes without a LED flash.

Surely, it is not a top of the line device, but as Microsoft is saying, this phone is an entry-level device and is more affordable than many other products on the market. With an off-contract price, Microsoft Lumia 535 costs 110 euros. The design of this new device doesn’t stray far from the original Lumia formula, boasting a glass plastic back with softened corners and rounded sides. It feels very comfortable in the hand and the buttons that are positioned on the right-hand side should suit perfectly.
