The bride of the year! Meghan King who was married to Cuffe Owens in a ceremony on Monday October 11, was absolutely stunning in her wedding. But the way she said”yes” to her gown was a bit unconventional.
“I bought thousands of dollars worth of dresses online — everything from traditional gowns to cocktail dresses off the rack,” she said to Brides. The add-to-cart purchase wasn’t the only deviation from the norm. She also asked her husband to assist her with the process of selecting.
“Breaking from tradition, I tried all of them on for Cuffe to see,” the 37-year old Real Housewives of Orange County alum explained. “We both found ourselves getting caught up in expectations of tradition with the dress when I just decided to wear what felt most like me.”
In the final analysis, King, who was previously married to Jim Edmonds from 2014 to 2021 and Brad McDill from 2007 to 2011, opted for the “mature blazer dress” by Rasario and was the first dress she had tried on. “I have my dry cleaner put the lapels back on and voilà! my wedding dress is perfect,” the Bravo star stated.
Although the entire outfit was distinctive and unique, she remained true to the old-fashioned and trusted idea of wearing something vintage new, borrowed, and blue. The diamond studs are her sisters as well as “classic Manolo Blahnik pumps in my favorite color, blue.” The final touch to her look with a lovely veil made from BHLDN, Dolce and Gabbana lacy gloves, and a Jonathan Simkhai t-shirt. For the bling, she chose the Suz as well as a Patrish tennis bracelet.
In the realm of beauty she sought to “look and feel as much like ‘me’ as possible.” She also said: “I just wanted to look like a better version of myself, but with lashes, of course.”
For Owens? He wore an elegant blue Ralph Lauren Purple Labell suit that was perfectly in line with King’s pumps. The attorney, who sports hair that is very long and a long hair, treated his wedding day as every other day. “When I asked Cuffe how he would prepare for grooming on our wedding day he confidently looked at me in the eyes, smiled and said, ‘Like any other day,’ and kissed me.”
The couple had the “small family wedding” at Owen’s parents’ residence. Owen’s parents were in attendance. Georgetown student’s father, the President Joe Biden, was in the audience. King and Owens ceremony was to a shorter length because simplicity was important for them.
“Don’t let anyone make it about anything other than your love for each other and the commitment you’re making to each other,” the couple told Brides. “And make it happen in your own way. If you’re fortunate enough to live with two families who “get it” as we do and understand what you’ll require.”
