Megachurch Pastor Creflo Dollar Arrested

Based on a recent report published by the Associated Press, megachurch pastor, Creflo Dollar, was arrested on Friday. The televangelist was charged with simple battery and cruelty to children after injuring his 15-year-old daughter in a domestic fight.

Pastor Creflo Dollar has never been the embodiment of perfection; he has drawn the media’s attention due to his flashy lifestyle and his beliefs that prosperity is good. Now, he is back in the spotlight because he slightly injured his 15-year-old daughter on Friday morning.

According to the police report, the deputies at the Fayette County Sheriff responded to a call of domestic violence around 1 a.m. The phone call had been made from the pastor’s home in Atlanta. When investigators arrived at the house, they were told that the injured girl made the phone call and her 19-year-old sister confirmed her story.

Investigator Brent Rowan told the press that Creflo Dollar and his daughter had been arguing because the girl wanted to go to a party. The discussion turned physical and the girl was left with “superficial injuries”. The pastor was immediately taken to the Fayette County jail, but he was bonded out several hours later.

Dollar released a statement with the help of his lawyer, Nikki Bonner. He told the press that he loves his children very much and he would never do anything to hurt them. Moreover, the decisions that he makes are always in the girls’ best interest. He concluded that the facts of the case will be privately dealt, so his children would not be affected by the negative publicity and thanked all his supporters for their prayers.

Although he is involved in the criminal case, the pastor will continue to preach on Sunday as he normally does. He is the leader of the Creflo Dollar Ministries and the pastor of World Changers Church International in College Park, Atlanta. The megachurch serves 30,000 members.

Dollar stated in a previous interview that he stopped taking salary from the church, so he earns his money from other investments. In addition to his horse breeding company, Dollar Ranch, the pastor is paid to deliver private sermons and to publish books.
