Women in Texas must have shed lots of tears this weekend as Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves tied the knot in Austin, on Saturday. According to Us Weekly, the couple chose a high-end campout-inspired ceremony to make their six-year relationship official.
Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have been involved in a relationship for six years until they finally decided to make the big step. Their engagement was announced on Christmas when the actor took to Twitter to tell his followers that he asked Camila to marry him. The wedding was held on Saturday, in Austin, Texas and more than 100 guests were invited to the ceremony.
According to an insider, the couple chose a high-end campout theme for the ceremony, that is, the guests were camping in state-of-the-art tents which were previously installed on Matthew’s property. Although the idea seems rather rough for a wedding ceremony, the guests had a lot of fun, especially since they had all the comfort they needed. The organizers endowed the tents with showers, restrooms, and air conditioning, so guests could have a good time.
Matthew and Camila were very attentive with each other throughout the entire ceremony. At a certain point, he leaned down and whispered something in the Brazilian model’s ears making her shed a tear. A collective sigh could be heard in the room as the crowd noticed the romantic moment.
Woody Harrelson and filmmaker Richard Linklater were some of the celebrities who attended the wedding. All the guests seemed to have a good time, especially since Matthew and his wife Camila invited everyone to celebrate all night long on the camp ground.
Alves and McConaughey crossed paths for the first time in a Los Angeles bar in 2006. They started dating and soon after, they welcomed their first and second child. Levi, who is 3 years old, was born in 2009, whereas Vida is two years old. The couple declared in a previous interview that they didn’t really care about getting married because they were more interested in having a healthy relationship and a healthy family than walking down the aisle. In addition, they felt like a married couple throughout this entire time.
