On Sunday night, during his concert in Bogota, Columbia, singer Marc Anthony told the crowd he is a single man, Us Magazine reports. The 42-year old artist has confirmed his split from famous wife, singer Jennifer Lopez.
“They say I am a single man” the Latin star told the female crowd at the concert, who was thinking about whether he will say something about the recently reported separation or not. The fans at the Parque Simon Bolivar stadium cheered and applauded him. This was the only declaration on the subject of the split that Anthony gave since the news broke out. The Colombian TV network Caracol reported that the superstar was accompanied by a large security team in order to prevent the media to stop him and ask more details of the matter.
Not long before, on Friday, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez had announced they will part ways. “We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters” the official statement of the two said. “It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Jennifer Lopez has not yet made any comments of her own regarding the divorce. But her stylist, Phillip Bloch said Sunday that he is not surprised, as Marc was very controlling with his wife. In addition to that, she found out that “he owed millions in unpaid taxes in the Long Island estate” according to an insider’s statement.
Despite de separation, the couple announced that they will still appear together at the “Q’Viva!” reality show this autumn. “Both Jennifer and Mark are committed to the Q’Viva! project and will work on it as planned,” a representative for XIV Entertainment informs the Us Magazine. The reality show is about discovering talents in 21 countries. Marc 42, and Jen, 41, will be the talent headhunters. The show is made in collaboration with Simon Fuller, the creator of American Idol.
The couple wed in 2004 and renewed their vows twice: in 2008 and in 2010. Together they have two children, twins Emme and Max.
