Lupita Nyong’o Offered New Roles

Lupita Nyong’o interpreted her role in 12 Years a Slave in an impressive manner, so there is no wonder that the actress is offered new roles.

Actually, Lupita Nyong’o received an Oscar for her performance in this movie. Now, reports reveal that the star was offered a role in Star Wars and Americanah. In fact, it is reported that the 12 Years a Slave star received offers for both these movies.

However, it is important to mention that even before she received the award for Best Supporting Actress, Lupita managed to draw the attention and the interest of producers. It was reported that just a few days before the Academy Awards, Lupita met with J.J. Abrams for one of the female lead roles Star Wars: Episode VII

The Hollywood Reporter claimed that this meeting took place, although they did not reveal what happened during this talk. Until now, there were no confirmations on whether Lupita took a role and which will be the part she will play.

Other reports indicate that the Award-winning actress will be offered a part in Americanah. They indicate that Lupita has a very important announcement to make, which will be public soon. On the other hand, the author of Americanah said that she will take her latest book to the big screen and since this is the story of a Nigeria-born academic’s struggle to make it at an American university, Lupita Nyong’o might be the perfect person for the role.

The role that Lupita played in 12 Years a Slave actually was her first in a feature-length movie. Until now, the actress has actually had roles in the production of various movies. This is why some rumors went to indicate that maybe Lupita will not continue her career in the movie industry with an acting role, but she might be linked to the production process.

Americanah is expected to be a great success, as the novel written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has actually won the 2013 National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction. “I’m going to do the mysterious thing and say that Lupita might be making an announcement very soon. I don’t know. That announcement might be about Americanah,” Adichie said. The author added that Lupita has always been a fan of the book, so maybe she will be part of the new project.
