Lisa Ling, the former co-host of “The View” announced on Wednesday that she is expecting her first baby. The television journalist told Anderson Cooper that she has already found out that she is going to have a daughter, Washington Post reports.

The pregnancy was a good surprise for Lisa Ling, who suffered a miscarriage in 2010 during her seventh week of pregnancy. The 39-year-old presenter at OWN Network, confessed that losing her first baby was one of the biggest failures she experienced so far. Even though, the miscarriage happened very soon, Lisa was still heartbroken when doctors notified her that they could not hear the baby’s heartbeat.

Lisa Ling and her husband, Paul Song managed to overcome their past problems and now they are happy to announce that they will soon welcome their first baby girl. The official announcement was made during the “Anderson Cooper” show. The couple also brought a sonogram of their growing baby and the TV show host presented it during the interview.

She admitted that she wanted to keep the pregnancy a secret, but she has got to the point when it is almost impossible to hide the growing baby bump. I was trying to keep it quiet for a long time but now I’m starting to get to the point where it looks like I’m starting to get this big beer belly,” the journalist explained.

After she suffered the miscarriage, Lisa Ling wanted to do something special for other women, who might have been through a similar situation. She has, thus, created the Secret Society of Women, which has become very popular on the Internet. The website has many female visitors each day and is meant to lend a helping hand to all women by allowing them to anonymously share their stories.
