Knowshon Moreno Busted On DUI Allegations

Ever wondered why it took so much to finally bust Knowshon Moreno on DUI allegations? For the love of God he has a license plate that reads “SAUCED”.

The Washington Post writes that last week, Denver officers busted Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno on a drunken driving charge. A report by Denver television station KDVR-31 February 1st, traffic officers in Denver pulled Knowshon Moreno over on Interstate 25 near Quincy Avenue and Union Avenue. He was driving his Bentley at 70 mph, exceeding the speed limit of the area by a lot. Usually the speed limit there is 65 mph, but is currently limited at 45 mph because it’s a construction zone.

Officers asked Moreno to undergo a breath and field sobriety test. Surprise, surprise, he was charged with DUI, careless driving and officers found issues with his insurance. Knowshon Moreno was taken to a detox facility and is scheduled to appear in front of a court March 2.

Denver police Lt. Matthew Murray confirmed for USA Today that Knowshon Moreno was pulled over on southbound Interstate 25 around 1:30 a.m. February 1st for exceeding the speed limit and DUI.

Broncos released the following statement: “We take the incident involving Knowshon Moreno very seriously and are thoroughly reviewing this matter”. Until they could make a ruling, they “will continue to gather information and closely monitor this issue while the legal process runs its course”.

At the moment, Knowshon Moreno should be recovering from surgery to repair a knee injury he suffered in November 2011, during the game at Kansas City. Willis McGahee replaced Moreno, and since the team hasn’t actually used him lately, the 2012 season might be his last at the Broncos. Knowshon Moreno came 12th in the 2009 draft pick and was signed on a five year rookie contract, 2012 being his fourth.

Since he came to the Broncos, Moreno missed 12 games because of injuries and completely failed expectations of becoming the next stellar Denver running back. And with running back Willis McGahee and quarterback Tim Tebow on the job, the Broncos can leave Moreno behind without problems.
