Actress Kirstie Alley says she’s having a blast participating in the dance competition on TV show “Dancing With The Stars” and her costume designers say she has even lost some pounds. Her silhouette is now 39 inches slimmer.
In the closing episode on Tuesday, Alley appeared in front of the jury and the public in her original costume for an opening cha cha dance. But for that to happen, the costume had to be fit for her new silhouette. That is because the actress has lost weight considerably since the show began. On Tuesday, being one of the three finalists, she had to perform one more time. “We are constantly taking in and altering Kirstie’s costumes” said Randall Christensen, the designer that is responsible for Alley’s look. “Isn’t she looking incredible?” While no one wanted to reveal how much did she lose during the past weeks, Alley herself was coy when asked a few days ago about the number of pounds that she dropped. She said that at one point, this information will be revealed, but that she wouldn’t say then because she didn’t really care about it.
“As long as I kept changing and changing and changing, I really didn’t care. It was like, keep whittling, whittling, whittling.” Alley said. She then admitted that she liked being slimmer. “I’m really strong and really agile, and it gave me a new life” she continued.
Kirstie Alley, who is now 60 years old ( can you believe it? ) was “the fat actress” not very long ago. But as the show went on, her costumes got progressively smaller. Last Monday, she impressed everybody with her body-hugging catsuit, used in a freestyle dance. After the performance, she received the best compliment from Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who told her that she became the new poster child for life as it should be lived at 60 years old.
On Tuesday, she danced against Chelsea Kane and football star Hines Ward. Although the winner turned out to be Ward, Kirstie Alley won the weight loss contest at Dancing With The Stars.
