Well, ladies, now it’s official: all the Kings of Leon are now married. The Kings of Leon bassist, Jared Followill, married Martha Patterson this Saturday, becoming the last band member to say “I do”.
Just six months later after popping the question, Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill got married. He was the only one in the band without a wedding ring on his finger. But it all changed this weekend, when Jared Followill and Martha Patterson got married.
A rep for Kings of Leon confirmed for Us Weekly that bassist Jared Followill and model Martha Patterson tied the knot this weekend in Charlotte, Tennessee. “Today I get married. It’s the biggest step I’ve ever taken” Jared Followill tweeted ahead the ceremony. “I’ve dreamed about this day since I was a little girl” the Kings of Leon’s last bachelor joked.
Model Martha Patterson seemed pretty excited about the wedding day too for which she started “painful” preparations days in advance. “Marrying my best friend today. I’m the luckiest girl in the world” she tweeted on Saturday, but a tweet published September 24 revealed she wasn’t exactly enjoying the wedding prep work.
“Just got my eyebrows threaded. Jesus Christ. One hundred times more painful than waxing. I’m dead” she complained. It was all worth it from what we can tell from an official wedding photo Jared Followill posted. The 21-year-old looks gorgeous in a strapless bridal gown by designer Monique Lhuillier.
Sources told Us Magazine Jared Followill got hitched it a rustic ceremony at the Front Porch Farms, where friends and family were accommodated. It was what you’d call a typical “country wedding” and an insider says that both “Jared and his bride wore Lucchese boots during their wedding”.
Insiders told JustJared.com that the bassist’s wedding reception was highlighted by “a beautiful firework display and a five-tier strawberry cream cake”. Hmm…that does sound delicious. Same sources say that during the wedding reception guests danced to the “Copperhead Road” line dance, while Martha Patterson and her mom bonded over Carrie Underwood’s song “Mama’s Song”.
Daily Mail writes that Jared Followill and Martha Patterson hired celebrity event planner Sharon Sacks. The same one who was behind the bassist’s brother Caleb wedding to model Lily Aldridge.
