Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian made an unbelievably true declaration. The actress wrote on her Twitter account this weekend that she is tanner than tanning mom accompanying her message with a thousand words-worth pic, says Us Weekly.
The first time I laid my eyes on a pic of the “tanning mom” I was surprised to see that people would deride her image and say nothing of many other over baked celebrities like Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Paris Hilton and why not, Kim Kardashian. Luckily, Kim has had the courage to dot the i’s and cross the t’s when she declared herself tanner than tanning mom.
Unfortunately, I soon came to realize that the declaration was made only in relation to a recent photo that the reality TV star has posted on her Twitter account. At first glance, I would say Kim was right in claiming that she is overly tanned in the pic, but her day-to-day look isn’t far from this photo as the star is always resorting to various tanning methods. The 31-year-old celebrity accompanied the photo with a message letting Patricia Krentcil, aka Tanning Mom, know that she has some serious competition.
The Instagram photo revealed a much darker face and chest of the Kardashian sister. She later on, explained that her tan is not permanent and it was created with a special spray. Kim told her followers that the tan will gradually wash off and she will eventually return to her normal color. Her attention was then, distracted by the spelling of the word ‘tanorexic’. The star tried to reproduce the word and after two failed attempts, “tannerexic” and “tannorexic”, she wondered whether the word existed or not.
Kim Kardashian’s photo was inspired by Patricia Krentcil’s case, who was accused of taking her 5-year-old daughter to a tanning booth, at the beginning of the month. The woman pleaded not guilty to the second-degree child endangerment charges, but her case continues to be investigated. Although this affection is rather new, doctors claim that there is a growing tendency among people to excessively tan themselves. This affection was scientifically named tanorexia or tanning addiction.
