TMZ has sources confirming that Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will host X Factor as of this November.
Just a few weeks ahead the new X Factor season, Simon Cowell is mum about who are the hosts he hired. Over the past few weeks, reports had Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez as the most likely stars to host the second season of X Factor. Now TMZ has sources saying the deals were sealed and it’s just a matter of time before Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will be officially confirmed as the new hosts.
“It’s official…Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will be the new co-hosts of X Factor…TMZ has confirmed with sources connected to the show” reads the report. “…now we’ve confirmed they’ve both signed on the dotted line…it’s a done deal” TMZ adds. “We’re told the duo’s salaries will add millions to the budget – on top of an already enormous talent budget”.
When Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will be confirmed on X Factor, it will be the first time the show has two hosts. Whereas two hosts means Cowell’s budget will soar, it also means twice the chance to draw audiences. With a Kardashian on the show, X Factor might do just fine.
If Mario Lopez is still an uncertainty, when it comes to Khloe Kardashian it’s just a matter of “when” rather than “if” she will be confirmed as a host on X Factor. In August, Khloe Kardashian told E! News she’d love to host X Factor.
“I’ve always wanted to do hosting or talk-show hosting, so it’s definitely something that I would love to do and would be honored to do” Khloe Kardashian gushed. “To be on such a huge show like that with those judges, I would have so much fun doing that” she added.
Then, in September, Simon Cowell told Ellen DeGeneres he’s looking at many potential hosts, but a Kardashian is definitely on the list. “I know whom I would like, but now I have to get it approved by the network. We have screen-tested a load of people…” Simon Cowell said.
“It could be a Kardashian. I think that would work. I’m quite a fan of not putting [experienced] hosts on this show. Because I think it’s going to give it a different dynamic” the producer explained. “So we have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloe is definitely up there in [the] running” he added.
