Us Weekly reports that Kate Winslet and her partner, Ned Rocknroll have decided to tie the knot in a secret ceremony. The Britons chose New York as the location of their wedding ceremony, but only a few friends and family have attended the event.

Kate Winslet has always refused to talk about her private life. The media was aware that the 37-year-old star was involved in a relationship with Ned Rocknroll, but no wedding plans had been revealed so far. Reliable sources have confirmed, however, that the actress and her partner have secretly tied the knot at the beginning of December in New York.

According to their declarations, the “Titanic” star did not reveal her wedding intentions because she wanted to have an intimate ceremony. She and Ned were, in fact, surrounded only by some of their closest friends and family members.

The rumor became official news later on, when Kate Winslet’s rep, Sara Keene, told the press that the actress and Ned Rocknroll have exchanged vows in New York. She further added that Kate’s two children have also attended the ceremony, but no other details were provided in relation to the bride and the groom’s costumes or the wedding reception. Kate and Ned decided to get married in the summer after dating for one year, the rep concluded.

This is the third time that Kate Winslet is walking down the aisle. She was married to director Jim Threapleton from 1998 to 2001 and to director Sam Mendes from 2003 to 2010. She has two children, daughter Mia, 12, and son, Joe, 9, from her first and, respectively, her second marriage.

Ned Rocknroll, whom is known as the nephew of Virgin billionaire Richard Branson, has also been married before. He married Eliza Cowdray, the daughter of a British multimillionaire viscount in 2003, but their marriage did not last for too long.
