Based on a recent report published by Us Weekly, Kate Upton was rejected by Victoria’s Secret because she is “too obvious”. The declaration was made by Sophia Neophitou, in a New York Times article that was posted on Monday.

Some say the casting director Sophia Neophitou was too severe with the 19-year-old model; others, on the other hand, claim that Kate Upton does not possess the natural beauty that Victoria’s Secret angels have, so she will never walk down the catwalk with them. Neophitou stated in a recent interview that Upton is too blonde and too trashy to take part in a Victoria’s Secret show.

Although the 19-year-old model looks good enough to feature on the cover of the special Swimsuit edition issued by Sports illustrated, she is not as beautiful as Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima, in Neophitou’s opinion. She further described Upton as a “Page 3 girl”, thus suggesting that she is as vulgar as the women who appear in the British publication, The Sun.

As if these remarks were not enough, Sophia went on to offend the blonde model by saying that she has the face of a woman who may be easily bought with money. Moreover, the casting director compared Upton with a footballer’s wife due to her looks.

Kate Upton did not make any mean comments in relation to Sophia’s declarations. She only stated that she is relatable and that she doesn’t pretend to be high fashion or elegant in any way. Despite this, Upton is very appreciated by both male and female fans for her generous measures. She won the Top Ten on “The Late Show With David Letterman” because Mother Nature endowed her with a perfect figure. The model’s measures are 36-25-34.

This is the reason why Sports Illustrated named her Rookie of the year in 2011 and chose her as a cover girl for their 2012 Swimsuit Issue. Upton is in fact, so famous at present that she will most likely do just fine even if she doesn’t work for Victoria’s Secret.
