When transformations are involved nobody can do it better than celebrities, particularly in the case of showing dramatic weight loss and changing their bodies. Jonah Hill is just one instance.
The actor’s weight loss journey started in 2011, but recommenced in 2017 when he tried to shed the 40 pounds the actor gained from his performance as a character in War Dogs. In order to achieve this, he sought out the help of a trainer and nutritionist and even sought out tips from a few trim and toned buddies, such as the actor’s 21 Jump Street costar Channing Tatum.
“I gained weight for this movie War Dogs, and then I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum and said, ‘Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?'” Hill remembered the incident on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in August 2016. “And Tatum replied”Yes, you stupid motherf-ker, sure you’ll. It’s the easiest thing to do.'”
The Superbad actor was candid in the month of October 2018 over being overweight.
“I think everybody has a version of themselves — I call it, like, a snapshot, let’s say, at some point in your life, of the person you are,” he said during The Ellen DeGeneres Show at the time. “You’re trying to keep yourself from the world or make you feel certain ways and, even if you succeed or get older or achieve a certain appearance or what you think can fix it are carried around in something of that within you. That’s why for me, it’s being this 14-year-old who is overweight, trying to blend into these hip-hop and skaters, as well as feeling uneasy and maybe not fully understanding my own worth.”
Hill stated that he realized that he could “understand how much [it] hurt” to be described as “fat and gross and unattractive” early on in his career. “I’m in the process of being constructed like we are all of us, know what I’m saying? We’re all trying to understand what’s going on.”
The Moneyball actor later posted a body-positive post to his followers in February 2021 following pictures of him in a shirt appeared on the internet.
“I do not think I removed my shirt from the pool until in my mid-30s in front of my family and friends. It probably would have happened earlier had my fears about my body from childhood not been caused by the years of mockery of my body by the media or interviewers.” He wrote in Instagram. “So it’s a myth that media try to depict me as a victim by stalking me during surfing, and then printing pictures like this , and that it doesn’t bother me any more is a great thing. I’m 37, and have finally come to have the courage to love and accept myself. This isn’t an ‘good for me’ blog post. It’s also not a ‘feel good about me post. It’s for children who don’t wear their clothes to the pool. Enjoy yourself. You’re amazing and wonderful. My heartfelt love.”

In the quiet, I’ve always believed that it was an amazing art form . As I turn 35, I am trying to overcome to get over the things that caused me to feel vulnerable and unsecure as a teen.”
