According to the rep’s declaration, Depp and Paradis want to make sure that their two children, daughter Lily-Rose, 13, and son Jack, 10 will not be affected by their separation; as a consequence, they insisted on asking the media to observe their right for privacy.

Although they have been living as a married couple, Vanessa and Johnny never had a wedding ceremony. The American actor explained in a previous interview that he never felt he needed a piece of paper to tell him that he is married. In his opinion, marriage is something that you have in your heart or your soul, not something that you write on a piece of paper.

The press was not able to find out the reason that pushed the two towards separation. They were one of the most envied couple in Hollywood until last year.
