Joan Rivers, Hospitalized in Critical Condition, Now in Medically Induced Coma

After being hospitalized in critical condition, Joan Rivers was placed in medically induced coma. It seems that the star was accompanied throughout this entire period of time by her daughter Melissa Rivers. The New York Daily News reported that Melissa was visibly affected by the whole situation.

Joan Rivers is 81 years old. The star was placed in a medically induced coma on Thursday. The famous comedian had gone into cardiac and respiratory attack during a routine visit to her doctor’s office. Apparently, the star was taken to the hospital after a 911 call, made on Thursday at 9.40 a.m. It seems that the health problem which lead to this hospitalization started after the star performed an hour of stand-up in Manhattan.

Melissa immediately reached the hospital to find out what was her mother’s condition. Sources revealed that Melissa’s friends are there to help her care for her mom. Until now, it remains unsure what will happen to Joan Rivers and if her condition will improve.  After visiting her mom, Melissa issued a statement to thank everyone for their support.

The statement said that Melissa is thanking “everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother.” “She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers,” it added.

Until now, there is no word on when the famous comedian will be brought out of coma. Moreover, there is absolutely no information on how the recovery process will continue and what doctors say about Joan Rivers’ chances of improving her condition. However, some reports reveal that most likely doctors are going to keep Joan in coma until the weekend.

It is yet to see what will happen and how the recovery will evolve. Luckily, Joan Rivers is under the best medical care and the star also has her daughter there to give her support. Hopefully, we will see the talented comedian better and performing on the stage sooner than imagined.
