Yesterday afternoon, before Sunday’s episode of “True Blood”, Jim Parrack talked about his character’s return. After five years, Hoyt Fortenberry’s fate in “True Blood” is uncertain: will he return for the next season or is he gone for good?
Hoyt had one challenging season in “True Blood” and fortunately he avoided meeting his creator several times by now. Hoyt Fortenberry has been one of the “True Blood” characters that kept audiences eyes peeled to the TV sets in some of the most heartbreaking scenes of the show. With only two episodes to go before the season 5 finale, Hoyt Fortenberry might be a goner.
TVGuide.com asked Jim Parrack to talk about his character’s fate. Hoyt Fortenberry just decided to depart from Bon Temps and go to Alaska for a job on an oil rig. But he made sure the memories won’t push him to return to Bon Temps. So Hoyt asked Jessica to glamour him so he won’t have any recollections of her or Jason, his friend. And after a heartbreaking scene, Hoyt sets off to The Great Frontier.
Jim Parrack was bluntly asked by TVGuide.com what’s next for his character, Hoyt Fortenberry. Obviously, every fan is curious whether he’ll return or not. Apparently, Hoyt’s fate is uncertain still, but Jim Parrack says there is a chance Hoyt will be back.
“I mean, the real honesty is that I don’t know. I know that Alan Ball told me that they didn’t want to kill him, that Hoyt’s going away because Hoyt’s had enough” said Jim Parrack. “But Alan was adamant that one of the reasons they wanted to do that was to leave him the option to have a return” Parrack added of Hoyt’s departure to Alaska.
Of the heartbreaking scene during which Jessica glamours Hoyt, Jim Parrack confessed it was tough for everyone. “When I found out, when Alan called me to tell me what was going to happen, I didn’t want to tell everybody right off” said Parrack. Ryan (Jason) and Deborah (Jessica) got emotional. “What was happening in the imaginary situation was us saying goodbye and the three of us were also saying goodbye” the actor playing Hoyt confessed.
