Jessica Simpson and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, were excited to announce the birth of their first daughter, Maxwell Drew. According to People Magazine, the two welcomed their first child on May 1 and the news was made public on the singer’s website.
Nobody wanted to miss the opportunity of announcing the birth of Jessica Simpson’s first baby, so reporters kept a close eye on the 31-year-old singer during her last weeks of pregnancy. Despite their vigilance, Jessica Simpson enjoyed a private birth in a luxury hospital suite. Later on, she wrote on her website that Eric and her were elated to announce the arrival of their baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson. The girl weighed at birth 9 pounds 13 ounces and measured 21 ¾ inches.
Jessica and Eric didn’t spend too much time looking for new names for their daughter. They preferred to call their daughter Maxwell Drew because Maxwell is Johnson’s middle name and Simpson’s mom was named Drew before she got married.
The new mommy wanted the best conditions for her daughter; therefore, she checked into a VIP birthing suite at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in L.A. The luxury suite was designed for special guests who can afford to pay $3,784 a day in exchange for privacy and luxurious services. According to TMZ, the suite that Jessica rented included 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. In fact, it is rumored that Simpson spent more money on her maternity suite than Beyoncé did in 2011. The latter rented a private room for $3,200 a day in order to give birth to her baby girl, Blue Ivy.
Jessica Simpson announced her pregnancy in October 2011. For that, she resorted to a unique method, that is, she dressed herself as a mummy for Halloween and tweeted a picture of her with the description ‘It’s true – I’m going to be a mummy’. The singer is married with former NFL player Eric Johnson, but their relationship seems to evolve very fast. The two started dating in 2010 and six months later, they announced their engagement.
