There is no doubt in the fact that the whole Harvey Weinstein scandal has made many famous women want to talk about and share their experience. So, several famous women have revealed their own experience with abuse. One of the latest ladies to speak up is Jennifer Lawrence.
The famous actress revealed that she was actually humiliated during the first days of her acting career. Jennifer talked about her experience during her appearance at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event. Jennifer said during her speech that a Hollywood producer asked her to lose a lot of weight for one of her acting roles. The actress also said that another woman was actually fired by producers because she failed to lose the weight fast enough.
“When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by producers of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks,” Jennifer said. “During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me. We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates,” the famous actress went on to add.
Jennifer was told that she should use the experience as an inspiration. “After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet,” the star explained. Jennifer said that she did not easily accept the demands. She actually complained to another producer that the weight loss demand was not right.
“He said he didn’t know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was ‘perfectly f***able,” she explained. Finally, Jennifer said that she felt there was nothing she could do. So the star decided to go with the demands to help her career, feeling trapped. “I let myself be treated a certain way because I felt I had to for my career,” the actress said.
Jennifer previously also talked about the allegations against Weinstein. The star claimed that although she worked with him, she was not subjected to any form of harassment. She also said that she never heard anyone complain about such allegations.
