It was only a matter of time before debates between Michael Jackson’s kids and the rest of the relatives would ignite. A report published by US Weekly reads that Janet Jackson is furious with Paris for working on acting debut.
Paris Jackson, the 14-year-old child already worldly renowned accepted to be part in a 2014 movie. It would be Paris Jackson’s acting debut, but her aunt, Janet Jackson apparently has another take on that. A source tells US Weekly, Michael Jackson’s younger sister is furious with the 14-year-old and wants her to drop anymore acting hopes until she’s 18.
“You’re only a child once” Janet Jackson is said to have told her 14-year-old niece. And Janet Jackson should know what it’s like to lose a childhood in favor of movie studios, spotlights and fame. She started her acting career at a much younger age than Paris Jackson. The singer was only 7 when she acted a part for the first time in her life.
“I think she is entering the spotlight so soon” 43-year-old singer is reported to have explained of her anger towards Paris’ acting debut. It also didn’t help that the little actress-to-be is reported to wish for more parts than the one she plays in “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys” set to premiere in 2014. The source added that the debate over Paris Jackson’s acting career and debut has caused a “huge dispute” within the family.
Apparently to US Weekly’s source, Janet Jackson’s anger is also fueled by the feeling she is disappointing her older brother’s guidelines on raising his children. “She feels it goes against Michael’s wishes to keep his kids out of the limelight until age 18. Janet thinks Paris should enjoy being a kid and possibly go to college” revealed the insider.
But, then again this isn’t the first time Janet Jackson talked against an acting debut for her 14-year-old niece. In an earlier interview this year, with Prevention magazine, Janet Jackson talked about Paris’ appeal for the movie industry. “I think there’s a time for everything, and now is not the time. I told her I thought she should enjoy being a kid, possibly go to college” the singer said.
In a nutshell, Janet Jackson believes the acting cutthroat industry is the place she’d want to see her child in.
