Jackson Brothers Will Go On Tour

Without Michael, it’s interesting to see if the remaining Jackson brothers would have success. The founding Jackson Brothers group members still alive, Tito, Jackie, Jermaine and Marlon will go on tour.

Once known as the Jackson 5, the band is looking for a fresh start. Three years after Michael Jackson’s death, the remaining brothers are looking forward to a bright new future. Sure they might not be as young, or have afros and matching blue suits, but Tito, Jackie, Jermaine and Marlon announced they are preparing to go on tour.

This Wednesday, the group has officially launched their tour, called “Unity”. The Jackson announced their tour less than one week before the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. From their point of view, the anniversary of their brother’s death isn’t more emotional than living each day with the thought Michael’s not here anymore.

Marlon confessed: “For me, this cycle that comes around every year – this day, that day – that doesn’t affect me because it affects me every day”. So, “when that day comes around, it’s the same. You learn to live with it. I still wake up sometimes and go, ‘Jeez. I can’t believe my brother’s not here”.

The brothers confessed they wanted to get back together for a musical project for years now. But trying to cope with Michael’s death got them thinking a tour would help them heal. Rehearsals weren’t as hassle free as some would imagine. In fact, Jermaine confessed that sometimes Michael’s absence was just too much.

“The brothers don’t know this, but I’ve broken down several times and cried during rehearsals. I’m used to Michael being on the right and then Marlon, Jackie, on and on” said Jermaine. “It’s just something we never get used to” he added.

Pollstar editor-in-chief, Gary Bongiovanni, is concerned the Jackson Brothers’ upcoming tour won’t be such a success, without Michael. “The Jacksons were really all about Michael…I don’t know if that portends much for the remaining brothers and their ability to generate enthusiasm for ticket sales” he said.

The first gig on the tour is scheduled for July 29th, in Ontario, Canada at Rama Casino.
