Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris have decided to give marriage one more chance. The couple announced on Sunday that their engagement plans are back on track and this time there will definitely be a wedding, Us Weekly reports.
They say third time is a lucky charm, so Hugh Hefner is ready to take his third sweetheart down the aisle. His engagement to Crystal Harris was first announced in June 2011, but the model got slapped by reality and eventually decided to call off the wedding just five days before the ceremony.
More than one year later and probably lots of valiums, the 26-year-old aspiring actress is ready to declare her eternal love to her 86-year-old future husband. The wedding ceremony will take place on New Year’s Eve, at the world-renowned Playboy mansion. Only a handful of friends and relatives will take part at the ceremony as the bride to be is ashamed wants an intimate atmosphere for the wedding.
Crystal told reporters that she didn’t feel ready to make the big step last year and she needed more time on her own. Now that she has been single for almost a year, the model feels she is prepared to enter a marriage. Plus, one year can significantly depreciate an 86-year-old man’s health, so Harris’ chances of grabbing Hefner’s patrimony increase considerably.
The lovebirds did not make any official declarations in relation to their wedding plans. The bride-to-be indirectly tackled the subject as she posted a new message on her Twitter account saying: “Dear past, thank you for all the lessons. Dear future, I’m ready”. The post was soon re-tweeted by her fiancé giving reporters reasons to interpret the message as an engagement announcement.
Twitter followers were not surprised to see that the couple reunited after the June 2011 split. Even so, the men’s mag mogul told his Twitter followers that they should not be surprised by their reunion because he has always liked to remain friends with his former girlfriends. After all, the (Girls Next Door) show must go on.
